Rodi Garganico is an important seaside resort in Apulia, perched on top of a hill on the northern coast of the Gargano peninsula. In the last century the local economy was based on agriculture, especially the cultivation of citrus fruits.

Today Rodi Garganico is synonymous with sea holidays, with its long sandy beaches and its internal territory so rich in traditions and hospitality surrounded by the Gargano National Park and the Foresta Umbra.

The town can be reached by car along the motorway A 14 Adriatic (exit at Poggio Imperiale), by train using the railway line San Severo – Peschici. The nearest airport Pescara or Bari airports.

The late Spring is the ideal season for a holiday in Rodi to fully appreciate untouched nature.

Among the monuments in historic center are worthy of notice the ancient church of St. Nicholas of Mira, made interesting by its bell Greek byzantine style, St. Peter’s church whose origins can be traced in the Romanesque façade and the Sanctuary of Madonna della Libera erected in the period of the biggest splendor of the local economy in honour of the byzantine image, that according to the legend, chose this place as his residence in Gargano.

The central location of the city offers the opportunity to reach many place of turistic interest, historical and of religious worship as the tomb of St Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo as well as the ancient Cathedral of Monte Sant’Angelo, city that is included in the UNESCO World Heritage, the old Convent of St. Matthew and Our Lady of Stignano in San Marco in Lamis, the towns of Lucera and Troy locations of important remains of Romanesque cathedrals, Trani with its cathedral, castle and the port and Andria where there is one of the most charming and best-known examples of Puglia in Italy and in the world... Castel del Monte built by Emperor Frederick II, The Foresta Umbra with its ancient oaks, beeches, chestnuts, its numerous varieties of orchids and its rich fauna. Last, but not least, the lakes of Lesina and Varano, remarkable for their marine lagoons full of fish and ideal destination for many species of migratory birds.

The Hotel Poggio Degli Ulivi


Il Poggio degli Ulivi is located in Rodi Garganico, on highway 89 that runs through the Gargano. Here, the hotel is located, a few hundred meters from the sea and from the center of Rodi Garganico, but completely immersed in a rural landscape.


The name Poggio degli Ulivi is not random, in two words describe the hotel and its situation. The main building overlooking a garden of 2 acres where the old olive trees peeping on a vast meadow of flowers, next to the rough stone streets.


The reference point is the main house, a pink cottage Mediterranean-style, which looks down upon the rest of the property.

The large reception room ideally continues outside with an airy terrace where tables and umbrellas are settle in front of a backdrop of olive groves and hills sloping towards the sea with the backdrop of the Tremiti Islands. The restaurant can accommodate up to 200 customers and from its windows you can admire breathtaking sunsets whose lights fill of reflections ranging from white to indigo the room. In the heart of the olive garden is positioned the pool ... equipped with deck chairs, hammocks and parasols made of wood.

Next to the pool there is the polyhedral structure of the cafe that gives it a nice rustic touch to the environment, backed by simple furniture, ready to welcome the guests. The hotel does not offer a true entertainment service because it is proposed as the ideal place for rest and relaxation.


There are 38 rooms in all the Poggio degli Ulivi, of which 16 are in the main structure and the other rooms in a secondary structure near the pool. Painted bright yellow, this structure stands on two floors and providing each room on the ground floor of private entrance with garden and first floor rooms of a balcony both equipped with wicker seating. In a maze of gardens, flowers, shrubs, stone walls and rebels blade grass, the accommodations are bathed in a cool oasis of tranquility. The interiors are characterized with solid wood furniture and for the quality of services. The rooms - single, double, triple, quadruple are equipped with all comforts: air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, minibar, safe, bathroom with shower, hairdryer, desk. Some of this rooms are without architectural barriers suitable for disabled guests.


The space is intended to accommodate the tourists for breakfast, lunch and dinner is very large with a panoramic view of the Tremiti Islands. The Hotel Poggio degli Ulivi serves at lunch and dinner Italian and regional specialties as well as a selection of local dishes prepared with extra virgin olive oil of its own production, home-made pasta, vegetables and a wide range of carefully selected wines.


The hotel is not located directly on the sea, but the fanatics of tan need not worry because it has a good shuttle bus service that in just 5 minutes takes guests at the lido which is located on the east coast.

Fine sand, a landscape that stretches from the coast to the rocky spur on which dominates the city in Rodi with new port "Marina of Rodi Garganico" from which to leave for excursion to the Tremiti Islands and Costa and caves of Gargano...
